This design of this door handle is influenced by present-day car design where they often use different curved surfaces that meet into a sharp edge. This can be seen in the triangle shape which is the base for the whole handle. The triangle shape is also used because it is very uncommon in door handles which makes this design stand out.
 
The triangle twists 30 degrees along its path. This is done to give the door handle a less formal and sharp appearance. But the purpose of the twist is not only for esthetic reasons, it is also functional. The twist makes the door handle much more ergonomic. The support for the palm of the hand flows into a rest for the index finger and a thumb stop.
 
The door handle has a glossy finish. This finish emphasizes the modern character of the design and it creates a contrast between the different surfaces of the door handle.
