Top handle ZKL, w sling o..By emuzing for Dual Inventive
Thank you for the challenge.
My first impression is that the ZKL seems a lot bulkier than it needs to be (to create an electrical short). If this is the case, I think the entire unit should be redesigned with weight and material savings in mind. However, I do not know the engineering/ design criteria, so I really cannot say, and that's a different redesign.
So, to the challenge...
Observations & Assumptions:
- The existing case seems very large. It looks like you could fit 2 ZKL units in it.
- The unit is meant to be used outside, so it should already be capable of enduring exterior environmental conditions. Thus, a case is not needed for environmental protection.
- In the video, there are additional accessories in the case which appear to be necessary for onsite operation.
Ideas:
- Use a smaller case.
- Move the handle to, or add a second one, near the hinge of the unit. Try carrying it from the end instead of the middle, it might feel more convenient and you might not have to bend down as much. You could store the unit standing up, or hanging vertically, instead of lying flat.
- Replace the carrying case with a sling or belt for simple hands-free carrying of 1 or 2 units.
- Add a roller wheel or skid guards between the legs of the unit to bear some weight, and allow it to be pushed or pulled along the track.
- Add a removable small pack to the unit to protect sensitive components and provide storage for accessories. It can also provide a place for a handle or attachment point to a sling or belt.
