Hospital ForumBy Buente for I-nspire
I don't know how much this overlaps with other ideas, but my idea is to create a big online forum. The forum could be accessible to multiple hospitals with subsections for each individual hospital.
There can be many subjects to talk about:
Q&A section: For patients with hospital related questions. Staff members can answer questions about their desease or practical things about the hospital they are staying.
A section with light discussion: a section just to connect patients with eachother, maybe talk about conditions or just general life topics.
An art section: people can upload work they created while staying in bed. Maybe even art competitions.
Divided sections for different hospitals: to talk with fellow residents about the hospital and maybe their staff.
School and work: Talk about missed school activities or online courses to make the hospital a more productive environment for the patient.
The forum could be moderated by long staying patients or staff if they want to, to increase the feeling of a real community.
I think the most important thing about this forum is inspiration. Patients will be inspired to learn new things instead of lying bored in bed watching tv.
The beauty of this idea is that there are almost no costs for the hospital except server costs. Most people are familiar with forums and this makes it easy to participate, which creates a quick and big user base.
