This topic is something i keep wondering about. Much of these beautiful product renders, 3D design, Logo's... With what do you guys make them? I see there are a lot of professional designers around here , and photoshop does not cost nearly as much as a 3D modeler, so how do you guys do it? I know there are student licenses , but you're not allowed to work with them outside school and personal projects. Please help me out if I'm missing out on some programs: With the mac I use (besides paper&pencil): - Pixelmator - Sketch - TurboCad deluxe - Sketchup - Blender Ik know there is Gimp , inkscape, paint for windows and linux aswell. Question short: What software do you use?

I use Rhino. I bought mine. It cost loads, but I use it a lot and so was important that I had it. Blender, is an amazing piece of free kit, isn't it? Have you seen Sintel? A short movie that was made entirely using Blender. http://brlcad.org/ is a free 3D Solid Modeller. Think the US army use it, but I could be wrong. http://www.cademia.org is another free solid modeller. Think it works on the Mac. Any more questions, give me a shout.
