I think that a minimum age-barrier would improve the professionalism of the site. Although I believe that there is talent among the youngsters, they often can't see the big picture. To build a marketing concept for instance you need marketknowledge and skills. At this moment most of them are only interested in the prices. The level of designs will improve and more companies will be attracted to invest in redesignme. Another solution could be that designs first have to be approved by someone that can take a critical look at designs.

Even young people can come with good ideas which might interest the companies. I believe that if more people contribute, more companies will be interested. If a company wants a 'professional', they'd go to specialized company or individual to aid them. And about the approval, isn't that what they already do by rewarding RDMs? They just leave the ones that 'failed' in there as well.

I correct myself, I have come across two young potentials so I would like to change my attitude towards age. I still think that people have to prove themselves worthy before they can even start posting designs, like an entrance-exam type of something. This would improve the level of professionalism and it would attract a different kind of companies.

How about a good Design Critique? There are lots of products out there with at least a slight flaw. And there is already a critique part on the sight. So if you manage to critique and redesign, you should be able to come up with something good too :p. I think a seperation between finalized products and redesigns that need feedback could solve this problem as well.
